Juan Archuleta was just seen in action on the main card of Bellator 214, defeating Ricky Bandejas by unanimous decision.
The bantamweight contender has now fought twenty four times as a professional MMA fighter, but labeled Bellator 214 as the biggest fight of his life.
“This was the biggest fight of my life, biggest stage of my life as well. Cub (Swanson) was asking…somethings on when we got here…what we did and I kind of chuckled and said ‘this is the biggest fight I’ve ever had in my life…at the biggest stage. We’ll find out when we get to the hotel, it’s one of those things. Definitely honored for the platform that Bellator has given me to showcase my skill and I couldn’t be any happier,” says Archuleta to Fightful’s James Lynch during the post-fight press conference.
Archuleta had also made his Bellator Bantamweight Division debut in this bout, having previously fought at featherweight in the promotion.
One thing that Archuleta knows wholeheartedly is that the fighter wouldn’t been anywhere without the team that supports him.
"Like I was saying in the statement, it was a lot of emotion going into this fight. I know a lot of fighters say (this), but I do got the best team around me for me that elevate just every part of my character. I’m honored to have that…its showcasing, my manager fought…my coaches fought…my training partners fight. I mean these guys…I take their information that they give me and I take it to a literal sense and I added it into my career. That’s why I’ve been so successful thus far,” says Archuleta.
Darrion Caldwell is the Bellator MMA Bantamweight Champion and Archuleta did say he wanted a title shot after the victory at Bellator 214.
