Montel Jackson was last seen in action on the preliminary card of UFC 236, defeating Andre Soukhamthath by unanimous decision.

A victorious Jackson was the biggest favorite when it came to the betting odds at UFC 236, but the betting favorite status didn’t affect Jackson in any way.

“Not really, I don’t really focus on that stuff man. Like (I) thank them and everything, but to be honest with you…I actually don’t care. I know what I’m coming to do man,” says Jackson in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Jackson has now won two straight under the UFC banner and has won two of three overall in the promotion.

Some MMA fighters have transitioned into the world of pro wrestling, but do not expect Jackson to make that move in the future.

“No (I won’t become a pro wrestler), I was a fan of it growing up. The thing about the WWE and everything…I watched wrestling all the way up until I was like 19 or 20 years old. But all those 20 years and shit of watching it, they never gave a legitimate black superstar like a push. So after that, it was like I have seen this story like too many times…it’s over,” says Jackson.

There is no word yet on when a victorious Jackson will return to action, but the fighter did say in the interview that he’d like a quick turnaround.
