You haven't seen the last of Thunder Rosa in MMA.
Rosa made her Combate Americas debut last fall and went to the scorecards, but didn't quite pick up the win. As she tells Fightful in an exclusive interview, it isn't one and done, and she's been focused on a return to the cage.
"No, I’m actually signed with them for three more fights. So, I think the last six months I’ve been training MMA non-stop. I haven’t really trained pro wrestling for awhile, but my MMA training has helped me developed my in-ring skills. Like, you don’t even have a clue. I can grab a hold, and was I’m like, “Oh, now I know how can I move you and how can I do this and how can I do that.” It made me a lot more fierce because I’m learning so many other different martial arts that is not only just one and I think it just brings the best out of me," Rosa said.
Combate Americas has invested heavily in pro wrestling-MMA crossover. Their most successful show to date featured former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio competing. Lucha Underground's Sexy Star has also competed for the brand. Last year, Fightful learned that Ivelisse was targeted by the company as well.
