Montana De La Rosa is a mere few weeks away from stepping back into the Octagon at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale, where she faces fellow TUF alumni Rachael Ostovich-Berdon.

The female flyweight hasn’t been seen in action since the TUF 26 Finale and it is time off the fighter didn’t want.

“No, I didn’t want this much time off. I was asking for a fight as soon as possible, I guess this was the fastest that they could get me in there. There was a lot of 125ers who are trying to get fights, just like me because we all fought on that December card. I guess they had to pick and choose where to put us,” says De La Rosa in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

De La Rosa may be undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, but the fighter didn’t have much success son the TUF 26 reality show, making it to the quarterfinals before losing to Nicco Montano.

Even though the flyweight has just fought once in the UFC and was on TUF, one thing De La Rosa realizes is that being a part of the reality show has boosted her career.

“Yeah, its definitely crazy. Its crazy on just how much opportunities that being on that show has given me, I’m grateful for it,” says De La Rosa.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale takes place on Friday, July 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Brad Tavares and Israel Adesanya headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
