UFC Liverpool's Gillian Robertson on Molly McCann "I see a finish in the 1st round"

Gillian Robertson is just a short time away from facing Molly McCann at UFC Fight Night Liverpool, with the bout serving as McCann’s UFC debut.

While McCann is making her UFC debut in this bout, it has been awhile since UFC fans saw Robertson in action and that’s because the fighter was just waiting for an opponent to battle.

“I was trying to get in there (the Octagon) as soon as possible, its just waiting for a call from the UFC and waiting for an opponent this whole time. I’ve been in the gym getting ready this whole time, was just waiting for the name,” Robertson said in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

This wasn’t the longest absence in between fights for Robertson, who has been out of action for at least six months or longer several times before coming to the UFC.

Robertson doesn’t plan on spending a lot of time in the Octagon at UFC Fight Night Liverpool, because she predicts a first round finish over McCann.

“I see a finish in the first round, I see me going out there and being able to get make takedown and being able to either a choke or an arm bar in the first round and it being over,” says Robertson.

UFC Fight Night Liverpool takes place on Sunday, May 27 from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England with Stephen Thompson and Darren Till headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
