UFC Signs Steven Peterson, Debuts This February

Fightful’s James Lynch first reported that Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series alum Steven Peterson has signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC and will debut against an opponent to be named at UFC Fight Night Austin.

Peterson (16-6-0) actually suffered a defeat on DWTNCS Episode 7 to Benito Lopez and that loss came by way of decision. Peterson is a longtime veteran of the Legacy Fighting Championship and Legacy Fighting Alliance, earning notable wins over Matt Hobar, Caio Machado, Ryan Hollis and Dustin Winter. Peterson had challenged for the LFA Bantamweight Title, losing to Bellator MMA fighter Leandro Higo at LFA 1.

UFC Fight Night Austin takes place on Sunday, February 18 from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas with Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
