Since going on their hiatus demanded by COVID-19, the UFC has been without fans since early March 2020. In a subsequent tweet, the Tourism department emphasized the health and safety elements of their plan, and their "proven 'safe zone' concept"

It remains unclear exactly how many fans will be allowed into the Etihad stadium both for UFC 257, as well as the surrounding Fight Night events.
UFC 257 is currently scheduled for January 23rd and will be headlined by a lightweight contender bout between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. The PPV will also be preceded by a pair of Fight Night cards, the first headlined by a featherweight bout between Max Holloway and Calvin Kattar, and the second to feature a middleweight bout between Kevin Holland and Derek Brunson.
