MMA

The Legacy Fighting Alliance Flyweight Title is going to be defended in the main event of LFA 53 as Maikel Perez defends the gold against Casey Kenney.

Perez (6-1-0) is making the first defense of the championship, winning it by defeating Sid Bice via second round TKO at LFA 37. Perez also enters the encounter while in the midst of a four fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over a year. Perez has seen just two of his professional MMA fights go the distance and the flyweight champion won both of those bouts.

Kenney also competed twice on Dana Whites Tuesday Night Contender Series, defeating CJ Hamilton and suffering a defeat to Adam Antolin. Kenney has seen his last five fights go the distance and it has been almost two years since the fighter got a finish.

Legacy Fighting Alliance 53 takes place on Friday, November 9 from the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona with Maikel Perez and Casey Kenney headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on AXS TV.
