Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao Booked For First Post-UFC Fight

Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao is set for his first bout since his release from the UFC in 2019.

The 34-year old will face Tyson Duckworth in the co-main event of Premier FC 32 on Friday, November 19 in Springfield, MA.

Barao claimed his first UFC championship when he viciously knocked out Eddie Wineland in 2013 to claim the interim UFC Bantamweight Championship before being recognized as the official holder after then champion Dominick Cruz was stripped due to inactivity from multiple injuries.

Barao would make his lone successful title defense at UFC 169, where he defeated Urijah Faber before dropping the title to TJ Dillashaw at UFC 173 and Barao would never really recover, holding a 2-7 record following a second-loss to Dillashaw and a five-fight losing streak would see him cut from the promotion in 2019.

Premier FC 32 takes place this Friday, November 19 from the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA and can be seen on FITE.
