Wrestlemania weekend is always full of a lot of events from the WWE and the best of the independent wrestling scene.
One of the biggest events during that weekend is going to be Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, which is presented by Game Changer Wrestling.
Barnett would take to Twitter to announce that former UFC Heavyweight Champion and Bellator MMA veteran Frank Mir is appearing at Bloodsport:
Just when you thought me and @GCWrestling_ couldn't surprise you...
— Josh Barnett (@JoshLBarnett) January 11, 2019
We bring FRANK MIR to the ring.@thefrankmir is coming to Josh Barnett's: Bloodsport.
Don't miss you chance to see it live!https://t.co/rfViB203Tt pic.twitter.com/MMCzLu6RQQ
The Twitter post does say that Mir will appear in the ring, but doesn’t specify if its going to be a wrestling match or a segment of a different kind. If the appearance is indeed a pro wrestling match, it would be the professional wrestling debut for Mir.
Mir has been on a slide in recent years as a professional MMA fighter, having lost four straight fights and the former champion hasn’t picked up a win in over three years. Mir and Barnett have fought in the Octagon before, with Barnett getting a first round TKO win at UFC 164.
GCW Presents Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport on Thursday, April 4 from the White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey with no main event announced at this time.
