Giovanni Melillo Now Faces Michael Page In UFC Fight Night London Main Event

Michael Page needed a new opponent for the main event for Bellator London after the withdrawal of Derek Anderson and now he has one as Giovanni Melillo has agreed to take the short notice opportunity.

Bellator MMA announced the news through Twitter, while later confirming it during the Bellator 234 broadcast.

Page (15-1-0) has won eleven of twelve bouts under the Bellator MMA banner, last defeating Richard Kiely by first round knockout at Bellator Dublin. Page competed in the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix, making it to the semi-finals before losing to eventual winner Douglas Lima. Page has previously headlined one Bellator card, which was a unanimous decision win over Paul Daley at Bellator 216.

Melillo (13-4-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so having won just one of the last three. Melillo has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and one of them came to Bellator MMA veteran Karl Amoussou. Melillo has picked up thirteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by KO/TKO. 

Bellator London takes place on Saturday, November 23 from the SSE Arena in London, England with Michael Page and Giovanni Melillo headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on the Bellator App.
