Goiti Yamauchi has signed a new long term deal with Bellator MMA, specific details of the deal such as how many fights and the financials aren’t known at this time.
MMA Fighting first broke the story.
Yamauchi has already earned a record of 8-2-0 under the Bellator MMA banner, competing as both a lightweight and featherweight. Those eight wins Yamauchi earned in the promotion came over Musa Toliver, Saul Almeida, Mike Richman, Martin Stapleton, Isao Kobayashi, Ryan Couture, Valeriu Mircea and Adam Piccolotti.
While there is no official ranking system in Bellator MMA at the moment, Fightful currently has Yamauchi seated as the #7 ranked lightweight in the promotion.
The lightweight fighter is one of the more prolific finishers in the promotion, with seven of his eight wins coming by submission or KO/TKO. Yamauchi is currently in the midst of a three fight winning streak, with all three of those wins coming by way of submission.
Bellator 183 was the last time fans saw Yamauchi in action and he defeated Adam Piccolotti by first round submission on that night.
Despite signing a new deal with the promotion, there is currently no fight or opponents set for Yamauchi’s next appearance in the cage.
