Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm lost a controversial decision to Germaine De Randamie at UFC 208.
The former champion would also lose an appeal after the fight, and now she says that the new UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion didn’t even win at UFC 208.
“I want to be able to feel I have the opportunity to move forward. Like I said, I wouldn’t want to have a victory that way. To me, that’s not like a real victory. I would just love to have the opportunity to do it again,” Holm said on The MMA Hour.
Holm hasn’t won a bout since defeating former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. With a three fight losing streak weighing on her, the former women’s bantamweight champion still wants to fight.
“Yes, I love it,” she said. “Right now there’s a big hole in my heart. There’s an ache in my heart, having two losses that hole just got bigger. I’m not saying it doesn’t bother me. I think a lot of people, they see me still wanting to live my life and still wanting to push forward and wonder how I really feel. Yeah, I cry. I have days where I’m really upset about it. But I’m not going to go hide under a rock for the rest of my life, and I’m still in charge of my own happiness. The only thing to cure this is another victory, so that’s what I need to go for. I don’t want to just sit aside and just be in a dark place. I still want to surround myself with my team and my friends, people who know what I’m passionate about and know that I still want to be involved in this with the passion I have.”
The three straight losses that Holm has suffered came to current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Germaine De Randamie, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate and Valetina Shevchenko.
