How to Boost Your XP Gains In World of Warcraft
WoW's 20th Anniversary Event
The WoW Anniversary Event is an annual celebration that offers a fantastic chance to level up your characters faster. This year's event ends in January 6, 2025, so now you still have more than a month to take advantage of a nice 20% XP boost. The first 10% requires no effort at all as you get this passive buff for simply logging into the game during the event. The remaining 10% comes from the "Celebrate Good Fun!" quest that you can pick up from Yllana, the event coordinator in the Caverns of Time. The quest is very straightforward: you just need to take part in fun celebration activities and complete simple objectives, so it won't take much of your time. While the buff is temporary, lasting for 12 hours, it can be easily re-applied by completing the quest again.
Warbands
Sadly, this method won't work for brand-new players, but if you already have at least one max-level character, you're in luck! Warband Mentored Leveling grants you a small XP boost that scales with the number of level 80 characters on your account. For every maxed-out character you have, you gain a +5% XP buff for all new characters, up to a maximum of 25% XP. That means if you have five level 80 characters, any new alt you create will get the full +25% XP bonus right out of the gate. Reaching that max buff does take some effort, but with other boosts added up, including that extra XP from the Anniversary event, now is the perfect time to max out your alts to secure the 25% Warband bonus for all future characters.
War Mode
If you're into PvP or just want to spice things up a bit, War Mode is a good option. It allows enemy faction players to attack you in the open world anywhere outside of safe zones and also gives you +10% XP and quest rewards. The buff applies only to outdoor activities, so dungeon runs won't count. Still, those extra 10% XP are a solid boost to have, especially when stacked with other XP bonuses.
You can activate War Mode through your Talent Panel while you are in Valdrakken or Stormwind/Orgrimmar, depending on your faction.
Darkmoon Faire
The week-long Darkmoon Faire event kicks off again on December 1 and offers a sweet 10% XP and reputation buff called "Whee!" just for hopping on one of the fair's rides. It's an incredibly easy way to snag extra experience gains, so make sure to grab this buff in the first week of December.
Draught of Ten Lands Potion
This potion gives you a one-hour stat increase and a 10% XP boost for characters below level 50. Alliance players can purchase it from Provisioner Stoutforge in Boralus Harbor for five 7th Legion Service Medals. Those playing for Horde should head to Grand Bazaar in Dazar'alor and look for Provisioner Mukra who sells the potion for five Honorbound Service Medals. This potion is rather optional than essential, but if you have the currency to spare, we highly recommend getting it to give your level 1-49 journey a nice little speed-up.
And with all our buffs combined, new players are looking at a guaranteed 50% XP boost during the Anniversary Event, which can soar to a whopping 75% for those with five maxed-out characters on their account.
