McCall commented in the piece prior to participating in a ceremony with fellow former UFC fighter Dean Lister.
"These fighters are good people, but they're tormented. I have to fix these people, I'm one of them."
"My intention tonight is to go deep with you, show you how it works. And just heal with you. I'm not done healing yet."
Lister commented on the desperation he felt, and the drastic steps he felt he needed to take in order to return to the man he used to know.
"You're stuck in a prison cell of your own mind. You don't feel like doing anything. I was never like that before"
"I'm really outgoing, I'm very friendly, I'm very curteous, and I'm very helpful. I wanna see those things come back. I just need to make a drastic step, a drastic statement, and this is it."
In the piece, Lister details his current state, which consisted of drinking more than 20 beers a day, and taking Xanax nightly to sleep. Upon checking back in with him months later, he has gone completely dry and hasn't touched a pill since.
