UFC veterans Kyoji Horiguchi and Ian McCall clashed in the main event of Rizin 10, with Horiguchi scoring a nine second knockout win over McCall.
McCall thinks the referee stopped the bout a bit early and should’ve let him die in the ring if need be.
“Well, I got punched real hard, and I got hit,” McCall said to MMA Junkie. “Big deal. Let me fight. I came here to die, and I think I punched him once. I don’t know. I have to watch it again. It’s really embarrassing, so I don’t know. Truly sad.”
The UFC veteran has now lost two straight bouts and hasn’t picked up a victory in almost four years.
Early stoppage or not, a devastated McCall even believes the sport may have now passed him by.
“I have to go home and talk to my family and see if I want to do this anymore,” McCall said. “I have other opportunities in life, and I’ll be honest: Maybe this sport has passed me by. It’s a lot to think about. And to think it has, it hurts. I never really got to show the world how good I am.”
There was a time when McCall was one of the best lighter weight fighters in the world, but the fighter is now winless in Rizin and only won two of six during a run with the UFC.
