Makhachev defeated Oliveira in Abu Dhabi at UFC 280 via second-round submission. Since the pair's first matchup, Makhachev has added Justin Gaethje and UFC Featherweight Champion, Alexander Volkanovski to his hit list, while Oliveira has rebounded nicely with a first-round knockout of Beneil Dariush, this past June at UFC 289.
Another bout added to the mix at UFC 294 is undefeated surging contender, Khamzat Chimaev, who'll put his unblemished record on the line against former title challenger, Paulo Costa.
The current UFC 294 card can be found below:
- Islam Makhachev (C) (24-1) vs. (#1) Charles Oliveira (34-9) — UFC Lightweight Championship
- (#7) Paulo Costa (14-2) vs. (#4 WW) Khamzat Chimaev (12-0)
- (#13) Nassourdine Imavov (12-4) vs. Ikram Aliskerov (14-1)
