Jan Blachowicz Knocks Out Corey Anderson, Jon Jones Watches At UFC Rio Rancho | Highlights

The UFC Rio Rancho card featured a rare case of a main event nobody asked for, but made perfect sense.

With UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones looking on, #6 Jan Blachowicz avenged a previous loss to #5 Corey Anderson. He did it in shocking fashion, too, by knocking out Anderson cold in the middle of the first round. After the fight, Blachowicz challenged Jones to a title bout.

Jones, stealing the spotlight from Blachowicz, led the crowd in a "Jon Bones Jones" chant, after excitedly cheering that Anderson was finished. It's worth noting that Jon Jones previously said he wanted to fight overseas this year.

The main undercard featured a few other ranked fighters as well. #12 Montana De La Rosa beat out #13 Mara Romero Borella via unanimous decision, and unranked (and again, off weight) Ray Borg outlasted #7 Rogerio Bontorin.

Interestingly enough, a couple of unranked bouts on the main card seemed to have more buzz than ranked undercard fights. Diego Sanchez got picked apart by a flashy Michel Pereira, but an illegal knee in the third round gave Sanchez a co-main event DQ win.

On the prelims, John Dodson went into his fight with Nathaniel Wood ranked #13, but still wanted to reinvent himself. He did so, winning in the third round via TKO and keeping himself relevant in the bantamweight division.

#12 Macy Chiasson earned a one-sided unanimous decision victory over Shanna Young, while #14 Raulian Paiva knocked out #13 Mark De La Rosa in the second round.
