Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz, will welcome former middleweight champ, Alex Pereira, to the 205-pound division in the co-main event of UFC 291 on July 29 at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.
UFC President Dana White officially confirmed the booking via a live video stream on Tuesday. Blachowicz is 6-1-1 in his last eight Octagon outings and is coming off a split draw against, Magomed Ankalaev, back at UFC 282 last December. Pereira meanwhile will make the move up to the promotions light heavyweight division as planned. The Brazilian KO artist is 7-1 in his last eight fights and will look to bounce back from a second-round KO defeat to UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, in their rematch at UFC 287 this past April.
