UFC President Dana White confirmed the September 4th booking to its broadcast partner ESPN.

Teixeira (32-7) subsequently confirmed the booking opposite Blachowicz (28-8).

Blachowicz looks to make his second title defense after fending up UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in a super fight at UFC 259; meanwhile, Teixeira is in rare form riding a five-fight winning streak punctuated by finishes over Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith.
