Jared Cannonier has spent the last three-plus years competing in the UFC and the fighter is changing weight classes for the third time during his tenure with the promotion.
The light heavyweight, who originally came to the UFC as a heavyweight, will now be dropping to the middleweight division.
It was through Twitter that Cannonier made the announcement:
I’ll be making my 185lb debut in my next fight. So who’s first. #UFC pic.twitter.com/veqT5d6JD2

Cannonier currently holds a 3-4-0 record in the UFC (10-4-0 overall), with a 2-1-0 record in the promotion at heavyweight and a 1-3-0 record as a light heavyweight in the organization. Cannonier has seen the most success at heavyweight during his professional MMA career, even holding the Alaska Fighting Championships Heavyweight Title before coming to the UFC.
Although Cannonier has announced a change in weight classes, no word has been given at this time as to when the middleweight division debut will happen or whom that first divisional foe is going to be. When Cannonier finally does make his middleweight division debut, it will come in a weight class that is currently ruled by Robert Whittaker.
