Jason Gonzalez kicked off this past Saturday Night’s UFC On Fox 23 card by defeating JC Cottrell via a first round submission. Now Gonzalez wants to avenge his only loss thus far in the UFC.
“Whoever they bring to me – I would love to get my rematch (with Drew Dober), though,” Gonzalez said to MMA Junkie. “Only because I know I’m a better fighter. I feel like I kind of dropped the ball in that fight, and I wanted to put him more of a fight than I did.”
Jason Gonzalez has a record of 1-1-0 in the UFC thus far (11-3-0 overall), defeating JC Cottrell and suffering a defeat to Drew Dober, which occurred at UFC 203 this past September. Gonzalez has yet to see any of his fights as a professional go to the judges scorecards, with ten of those fights ending in the first round.
As for Drew Dober, he has fought only one time since defeating Gonzlez, which was a second round submission loss to Olivier Aubin-Mercier at UFC 206. Dober has a record of 3-4-0-1NC in the UFC (17-8-0-1NC overall), with his most notable win coming over Jamie Varner at UFC On Fox 13 in December 2014.
