Joe Warren’s Wife Wants Him To Retire

Former two division Bellator MMA champion Joe Warren has been rotating wins and losses in the promotion for the last three-plus years.

That and the fact that the fighter has been finished in five of his seven losses may be why Warren’s wife wants the former champion to retire.

“I feel like I’m 100 percent, (but) my wife is telling me it’s time to get out,” Warren told MMA Junkie Radio. “So we’ll see what happens.”

Warren does have to fights left on his current Bellator MMA contract, but the fighter doesn’t have a bout booked at this time.

The longtime fighter and wrestler does have some post-retirement plans, which include giving back to the sports he loves.

“I have so much to give back; that’s where I kind of feel like I should be giving back,” Warren said. “I’m just – I’m not sure. We’re coming out  to Telluride now, here, trying to maybe even give up athletics. Which is kind of strange for me. I always thought I’d be teaching somebody wrestling. That’s what I do the best. It’s always open to me. I believe I’m a great coach. Why? Because I’m the best coachable athlete there is. I’m a realist, so I understand what it means to get into a cage or get into a competition. So it’s easy for me to hype those guys. I would love to do that some day, I think. I think I have so much to give back and I haven’t done that, yet.”

It has been just over three months since the last time Warren lost, which was a split decision loss to Joe Taimanglo at Bellator 195.
