Fight Nights Global has been the top MMA organization in the country of Russia for quite some time, but not without controversy.
Last weekend at Fight Nights Global 63 in Vladivostok, Russia, Vladimir Mineev defeated UFC veteran Maiquel Falcao by TKO.
While it wasn’t the victory itself that it controversial, it is the way that the referee Denis Sivoplyas allowed Falcao to take an incredibly unnecessary beating before finally stopping the fight that has caused a stir.
A video of the fight can be seen above.
There was a lot of outrage from the fight, including severe criticism from longtime referee’s “Big” John McCarthy and Marc Goddard.
A referee's job is to know when a fighter has stopped fighting and is looking for a way out, not to wait for the KO finish #AskBJM https://t.co/uNi6H3S5X0

Even if I wanted to, I couldn't put this into words. And to think how I lambast myself over one or two punches. This is SHAMEFUL. https://t.co/syuAMeJg7B

FNG returns to action this weekend with Fight Nights Global 64 on Friday, April 28 with UFC veteran Ali Bagautinov in the main event.
