Jones has been teasing a move up a weight class to heavyweight and he may even have an opponent for that move in the form of Francis Ngannou.
The light heavyweight champion and Ngannou had the following exchange through Twitter:
How real it seemed to you my friend?!#UFCJAX https://t.co/SUzdnXwSBk

Who would you guys consider the quicker and more technical striker Thiago Santos or Francis? If you guys think I wouldn’t take this fight you’re insane. I have absolutely nothing else to prove as a light heavyweight. I’d love that big money fight right around now. Send the deal

Ibrahim Kawa, who is Jones’ manager, tweeted that the fighter is serious up the move up to the heavyweight division:
He’s not kidding and not deleting this https://t.co/juMtXjPFxM

If Jones were to move up to heavyweight, it would mark the first time in his professional MMA career that Jones didn’t compete at light heavyweight.
