Leon Edwards competed in the main event of UFC Fight Night San Antonio, defeating former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos by unanimous decision.
A victorious Edwards would take the opportunity in the post-fight interview to call out longtime rival Jorge Masvidal for a future encounter.
Masvidal was not pleased with Edwards’ post-fight antics and let the fighter know through a series of tweets:
Big difference between putting top ranked opponents to sleep and putting fans to sleep #bum #whoru

So I can be clear I was promised a title shot after I beat askren and I plan on cashing in on it. Don’t call me out no more until I get that belt #supernecessary

Edwards would respond to what Masvidal tweeted with the following response on Twitter:
Run Jorge Run#runjorgerun

The rivalry between Edwards and Masvidal kicked off earlier this year at UFC Fight Night London, when the duo had a backstage altercation after the event. Edwards has been calling for a bout against Masvidal for awhile not, but a potential encounter hasn't come together at this point in time.
