Junior Dos Santos Wants Rematches With Stipe Miocic & Alistair Overeem

MMA

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos hasn’t been seen in the octagon much lately, due to a series of nagging injuries. However, the former champion is now healing up and when he returns to action, he wants rematches with UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic (whom he defeated) and Alistair Overeem (whom he lost to).

“I’m coming from a good victory against Ben Rothwell,” Dos Santos told MMA Junkie Radio. “I was the last guy to beat Stipe Miocic. If the UFC wants to see a really good fight between the standup heavyweights, they will make that fight happen. I don’t think it’s going to add anything for my career,” Dos Santos said. “But I lost to him (Overeem), so I need to prove to people that I am the better fighter. I would enjoy fighting against him again, but it seems like he doesn’t want to.”

Since joining the UFC in 2008, Dos Santos has only suffered three losses in the promotion, one to the aforementioned Overeem, while the other two came to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez. As for Miocic, he has recently stated he would like to defend his belt when the UFC returns to the United Kingdom next year, while Overeem hasn’t fought since losing to Miocic at UFC 203 earlier this year.
