Justin Willis is back in action next week at UFC Fight Night Nashville, facing Curtis Blaydes in a heavyweight division affair.
The heavyweight contender seemingly views Blaydes in one way, which is that he is a boring fighter.
“People are in it to watch me,” Willis said to MMA Junkie Radio. “They’re not going to be there to watch this guy. This guy’s boring. Boring not just to fight; in the fights he’s boring. Personality-wise he’s boring. He’s just a boring guy. The people are obviously there to see me. That’s a fact.”
Blaydes has competed thirteen times as a professional MMA fighter and ten of those bouts ended via form of finish.
Willis is the least known of the two competitors battling in the Octagon next weekend, but he plans on changing that perspective in Nashville.
“Once I take care of business you won’t have a choice but to look at me seriously,” Willis said. “People are already looking at me seriously, but upon that moment: Hello world. I’m excited for that moment.”
UFC Fight Night Nashville takes place on Saturday, March 23 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee with Stephen Thompson and Anthony Pettis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
