Karolina Kowalkiewicz May Retire In 3-4 Years

Karolina Kowalkiewicz is back in action this weekend at UFC Fight Night Philadelphia, facing Michelle Waterson in a women’s strawweight division attraction.

The fighter, who has been a pro since May of 2012, plans on retiring from MMA competition in the next three to four years.

“I want to have children,” Kowalkiewicz told MMA Junkie. “For sure I want to fight three years, but we’ll see. Maybe it will be three or four years.”

Kowalkiewicz has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to then champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk via unanimous decision at UFC 205.

In order to get another shot at the gold, one thing that Kowalkiewicz knows that she needs to do is win some more fights.

“I know I have to win a few fights to get a title shot,” Kowalkiewicz said. “But if I won with Michelle, I would be one step closer.”

UFC Fight Night Philadelphia takes place on Saturday, March 30 from the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with Edson Barboza and Justin Gaethje headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
