Former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman will make his return to the ring after over two years away from active competition.
ESPN's Mike Coppinger was the first to report the news that Thurman will return against former WBA super lightweight champion Mario Barrios in a welterweight matchup on a yet-to-be-announced PBC on FOX pay-per-view event on January 29. Thurman is 29-1-1 as a professional and is coming off of a split-decision loss to former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao back in July 2019. Barrios on the other hand is 26-1 as a pro and will look to rebound from an eleventh-round TKO loss to undefeated three-division champ Gervonta Davis in June.
