Former UFC title challenger Kelvin Gastelum has been forced out of his upcoming UFC Vegas 67 main event matchup this weekend with Nassourdine Imavov due to an undisclosed mouth injury.
ESPN's Brett Okamoto was the first to report the news of Gastelum's removal from Saturday night's card, additionally revealing that Sean Strickland will step in as a short-notice replacement opponent and take on Imavov in a five-round light heavyweight bout. Imavov is 4-1 in his five promotional appearances and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Joaquin Buckley at UFC Paris in September. Strickland meanwhile is 6-2 in his last eight Octagon outings and will look to bounce back from a split-decision loss to Jared Cannonier at UFC Vegas 66 last month.
