Davis (17-3-0-1NC) is making the first defense of his championship, a title he won by defeating Liam McGeary at Bellator 163. Davis also won a one night light heavyweight tournament in his Bellator MMA debut, defeating Emmanuel Newton and fellow UFC veteran Francis Carmont. Davis also earned nine wins during his UFC tenure, including victories over former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida and title challenger Alexander Gustafsson.

Bader (22-5-0) is making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and will do so while riding a two fight winning streak. Bader did defeat Davis in their first meeting, which occurred at UFC On Fox 14 -- Bader got that win by unanimous decision. Bader is competing outside of the UFC auspices for the first time in over eight years. He was also the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 8.

Bellator 180 takes place on Saturday, June 24 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
