King Mo will be fighting Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in a rematch at Bellator 175, the duo first competed at Bellator 120.
Unlike their first fight, the two competitors will be competing at heavyweight instead of light heavyweight. Mo doesn’t care what weight class the fight is at because he just wants to fight Rampage again.
“I wanted this fight, so I took it at heavyweight,” Lawal told MMA Junkie. “I know he can’t make (light heavyweight); I could have easily declined. But I want this fight that bad.”
The fighter will be returning for the first time since competing in the Rizin 2016 Openweight Grand Prix, where he lost to Mirko Cro Cop in the quarterfinals.
Jackson originally wanted to fight either Fedor Emelianenko or Mirko Cro Cop instead of King Mo, something that made the fighter a little angry.
“My boys hit me up and were like … he’s saying he wanted to fight a guy like (Mirko) ‘Cro Cop’ (Filipovic) or Fedor (Emelianenko) and not me,” he said.
Bellator 175 will be taking place on Friday, March 31 from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois with Rampage Jackson and King Mo headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
