Liz Carmouche will be making a little bit of UFC history at UFC 205 because she will be competing in the first MMA fight in Madison Square Garden against Katlyn Chookagian, while she also competed in the first ever women’s bout in UFC history against Ronda Rousey at UFC 157.
When asked by MMA Junkie about which fight means more to her, Carmouche stated “They’re both going to have special places in my heart.”
Carmouche may not have a favorite when it comes to comparing her MSG debut to fighting Rousey, but she does have a goal in mind when she enters the octagon this Saturday Night.
“I just want ‘Fight of the Night’ – that’s the hope,” Carmouche said. “Or ‘Knockout of the Night.’ But I want to ring out this fight making sure that first fight of the night doesn’t compare to any one that comes after it.”
UFC 205 takes place on Saturday, November 12 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor headlining.
