Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since losing the gold to Michael Bisping at UFC 199.
Rockhold is now claiming that the division he once ruled is now “f-cked,” mainly because there are no interesting fights in the future.
“The division is f-cked,” Rockhold said to MMA Fighting. “No interesting fights.”
Two of Rockholds biggest complaints against the division have been the one time booking of middleweight champion Michael Bisping against former welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and the overall lack of activity from the champion.
UFC President Dana White did eventually cancel the fight between Bisping and GSP, while Bisping is also on the shelf with a knee injury.
Although Rockhold is close to ready for his comeback fight from a knee injury, the former champion doesn’t want it to come against a worthless opponent on a worthless card.
“I’m not coming back after all this time and fighting some chump on a worthless card,” Rockhold said. “I’m coming back in style and making some noise.”
Besides holding the UFC Middleweight Title, the former champion also held the Strikeforce Middleweight Championship. Rockhold has also made challenges to fighters in other weight classes, including former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum.
