Luke Rockhold Says He Has No Interest In Fighting Right Now

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold hasn’t competed since a second round knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz on the main card of UFC 239.

It doesn’t appear that the former middleweight champion is expecting to compete again anytime soon, as the fighter says he has no interest in fighting right now.

“I have no interest in fighting right now,” Rockhold said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show (via Jed Meshew of MMA Fighting).

Rockhold hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years, with that last win coming over David Branch in the main event of UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh

Although Rockhold has yet to announce any form of retirement, one thing the fighter admits that it is definitely a possibility.

“Very [possible],” Rockhold says about a potential retirement.

If Rockhold does actually retire from professional MMA, it would end a career that saw middleweight title runs in both the UFC and Strikeforce. It would also end a career that has lasted over a decade ago, with Rockhold's first pro MMA bout being a first round submission win over Mike Martinez at Melee On The Mountain in July of 2007.
