A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night Belem as Maia Stevenson is in action against Polyana Viana.
Combate first reported the bout.
Stevenson (6-4-0) is going to be making her UFC debut at this event and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Stevenson competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, losing in the opening round of the reality show to Sijara Eubanks. Stevenson is a longtime veteran of the Gladiator Challenge promotion, winning all six fights she competed at in the organization.
Viana (9-1-0) is also going to be making her UFC debut in this fight and will also do so while on a five fight winning streak. Viana has only seen just one of her ten professional MMA bouts go the distance and that was a loss to Aline Sattelmayer at Real Fight 12 in December 2014. Viana has earned nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of those wins came via first round finish.
UFC Fight Night Belem takes place on Saturday, February 3 from the Manguerinho Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
