A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to the forthcoming UFC On Fox 27 card as #8 Mara Romero Borella is in action against #11 (WBW) Katlyn Chookagian.
Borella (12-4-0-1NC) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, defeating Kalindra Faria by first round submission at UFC 216. Borella has also competed in the Invicta FC promotion, defeating Milana Dudieva by split decision at Invicta FC 24. Borella has suffered a total of four losses as a professional MMA fighter and one of those losses came to UFC veteran Anna Elmose.
Chookagian (9-1-0) has won two of three fights thus far in UFC competition, defeating the duo of Lauren Murphy and Irene Aldana. Chookagian is a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Women’s Bantamweight Champion, defeating Isabelly Varela by decision to win the gold in 2016. Chookagian also went undefeated during her time as an amateur MMA fighter and that includes a win over recent UFC signee Andrea Lee.
UFC On Fox 27 takes place on Saturday, January 27 from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina with Ronaldo Souza and Derek Brunson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
