Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor has taken the rivalry with UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to a different level this week by insulting the champ’s wife, labeling her as a towel on Twitter.
Nurmagomedov had already issued one statement against what McGregor tweeted, but now has given the Irishman a serious warning as well:
@TheNotoriousMMA If you think that insulting entire religion you be safe, you are mistaken.

McGregor, while wanting to move forward, announces his return from a self-imposed retirement:
I want to move forward, with my fans of all faiths and all backgrounds.
— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 4, 2019
All faiths challenge us to be our best selves.
It is one world and one for all
Now see you in the Octagon.
The former two division champion retired last week, but personalities such as UFC President Dana White and Artem Lobov didn’t think the retirement would stick.
Cyborg, who herself has been involved in several feuds over the years, would take to Twitter to call for peace so situations like the one between McGregor and Nurmagomedov don’t happen again:
Sometimes I wish athletes in the @ufc were held to a code of conduct similar to athletes in the @nfl @nba @mlb For The things they say online. Now that the sports is on @ESPN we are in the homes of more kids! We need to unite not divide...this is what sports are for! pic.twitter.com/Hpv3MEaxa6
