A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Vegas 16 as #12 Merab Dvalishvili faces Raoni Barcelos.
MMA Fighting first reported the news, as Barcelos is replacing Cody Stamann at the event.
Dvalishvili (12-4-0) enters the contest riding a five-fight winning streak, picking up wins over Terrion Ware, Brad Katona, Casey Kenney, Gustavo Lopez and John Dodson. Dvalishvili hasn’t been defeated in over two years with his last loss coming to Ricky Simon at UFC Fight Night Atlantic City. Dvalishvili has picked up 16 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 12 of those bouts went the distance.
Barcelos (16-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, defeating the five pack of Kurt Holobaugh, Chris Gutierrez, Carlos Huachin, Said Nurmagomedov and Khalid Taha. Barcelos has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Mark Dickman at RFA 14 in April of 2014. Barcelos has earned eight of 16 wins by way of KO/TKO, with another six coming by decision.
UFC Vegas 16 takes place on Saturday, December 5 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jack Hermansson and Kevin Holland headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
