Former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping has stated in the past that he would like to retire this March, possibly at UFC Fight Night London.
However, it won't be happening for the fighter because he isn’t going to be on the card.
Bisping recently revealed that news through Twitter:
Don't buy tickets to see me fight in London. I'm not fighting. Just spoke with ufc.
— michael (@bisping) January 30, 2018
The former champion recently did say on Believe You Me that an opponent had been offered for him to fight, but whom that opponent was has never been revealed.
A pair of challengers did step forward to fight Bisping in the form of former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort and Brad Tavares. However, a defiant Bisping said that his retirement fight wouldn’t come against a “known cheater” in Belfort, while the British fighter never publicly commented on Tavares’ request for the bout.
There has been another rumored main event for the card as Darren Till could be fighting Gunnar Nelson, but nothing has been made official at this time.
UFC Fight Night London takes place on Saturday, March 17 from the 02 Arena in London, England with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
