Miesha Tate vs. Lauren Murphy Booked For May

Former UFC women's bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will drop to 125 pounds for the first time in her career and face former title challenger, Lauren Murphy, at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on May 14.

MMA Fighting's Damon Martin was the first to report the news of the matchup, although the promotion themselves has yet to officially announce anything regarding the bout. Tate moves down to the flyweight division after going 1-3 in her last four Octagon appearances and will try to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Ketlen Vieira back at UFC Vegas 43. Murphy meanwhile is 5-1 in her last six fights and is coming off of a fourth-round TKO loss to reigning UFC women's flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko, back at UFC 266.
