Just a few weeks after saying Misha Cirkunov is no longer a part of the promotion, UFC President Dana White has changed course and says the fighter has signed a new deal with the company.
A second meeting occurred between White and the light heavyweight contender, with a deal getting done this time around.
“We got a deal done,” White told TSN. “He and his wife flew down to Las Vegas and had dinner with me. (I) liked them both – nice guy, tough guy. We had come to terms on a deal. I had thought he sort of went MIA on me. I honestly don’t know what happened. He came back around, we got the deal done and I’m happy about it. I’m glad we did, and I look forward to seeing him fight again.”
It’s a quick change of course for the UFC President and the fight, as White told the media the following after their first meeting.
“So I’m not interested,” White said. “I’m done. He knows I’m done. I made it very clear I’m done.”
The return date and opponent for Cirkunov hasn’t been announced at this time. The fighter is not also ranked in the light heavyweight division top 15.
