Dillon Danis has yet to make his professional MMA debut, but according to one fighter, it was supposed to happen in a few months at Bellator 180.
Neiman Gracie has stated that the jiu-jitsu expert turned down a fight with him, and for good reason.
“They offered me the fight,” Gracie said to MMA Fighting. “I accepted the fight, he accepted the fight and now he said no. I never asked for the fight, but I say yes. But I understand. I know I’m a bad matchup for him. I know he’s just starting fighting and nobody wants to start their career 0-1. I wouldn’t take the fight neither.”
The Gracie Family member even voiced his displeasure with the scenario via Twitter:
guys I was offered the fight with Dillon Davis at @BellatorMMA MSG. We agreed to the fight but he backed out. This is not the first time.

Gracie, now that Danis has turned down the fight, is now contemplating if Danis will ever make his pro MMA debut.
“I respect the guys from Marcelo’s gym,” Neiman Gracie said. “They are great guys. Some of them are my friends. But it’s just because it pisses me off. I accepted the fight and now it’s not happening anymore. He says that he’s really tough, but when it’s time for him to fight, he’s not gonna fight?”
Bellator 180 takes place on Saturday, June 24 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
