Nelson vs. Mitrione II Headlines Bellator 194

A first round match in the Bellator MMA Heavyweight Grand Prix is going to be headlining the Bellator 194 card as Roy Nelson faces Matt Mitrione.

Nelson (23-14-0) is currently undefeated under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating Javy Ayala by unanimous decision at Bellator 183. Nelson also spent just under eight years competing in the UFC, earning a record of 9-10-0 in that time with the promotion. Nelson won the first fight with Mitrione at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale in December 2012, which came by first round TKO.

Mitrione (12-5-0) is also undefeated thus far in Bellator MMA competition, last defeating Fedor Emelianenko by first round knockout at Bellator 180. Mitrione also had quite the long run in the UFC, earning himself a record of 9-5-0 in the promotion. Mitrione hasn’t seen one of his bouts go the distance in over six years and the last one to do so came back at UFC 137 in October 2011.

Bellator 194 takes place on Friday, February 16 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
