It wouldn't be a Nick Diaz fight week without a bit of uncertainty would it? Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler will now be contested at 185 pounds — this and much more on Wednesday's social media roundup.
Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler now a middleweight fight
It simply would not be a Nick Diaz fight week if the week went smoothly.
After last night's episode of Dana White's Contender Series, White confirmed that Diaz and his team had requested for his fight this upcoming weekend against Robbie Lawler to be changed from a welterweight bout to a middleweight bout.
The bout was originally signed a scheduled as a 5-round welterweight fight but that has now been changed.
Here is what White had to say.

It was then confirmed shortly after that the bout had officially been switched from a welterweight fight to a middleweight fight. Even though the weight class has changed, the fight still remains as a 5-round bout.

It will stay as a five-round fight.

So far, there have been no reasons given as to why Diaz and his team wanted the weight change but no doubt he will be asked a lot of questions on the subject in tomorrow's pre-fight press conference (if he turns up.)
