Niko Price competed on the main card of UFC Fight Night Wichita, defeating Tim Means by first round knockout.

One fighter that Price looks forward to battling one day is current UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.

“I’m looking to the top – I want that belt,” he told MMA Junkie. “I want (Kamaru) Usman. He’s really cool. But I’ve got to work my way to him, and I know that. I’m not trying to say, put me in there now. I’ve still got to get better, and he’s a great fighter. One day, I would love to stand across the cage from him, whether he’s holding the belt or not.”

Usman just competed at UFC 235, defeating Tyron Woodley to claim the UFC Welterweight Title.

Means suffered some serious injuries after facing Price in Wichita, but Price did get a chance to speak with the fighter after their bout.

“I told him after, ‘You’re the reason I am who I am, because I’ve been watching you from the beginning,'” Price said. “‘I wanted to be savage like you.’ But now, I’ve got to be more savage than you. I really want to pray for his leg to heal strong, because I never want to do that to someone, but in this sport, we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do.”

It could be awhile before Price gets his wish, as former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington is expected to get the next shot at Usman.
