Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion Patricio Pitbull is set to defend the gold again against Daniel Weichel in the main event of Bellator 203.

The champion has taken to Twitter to accuse the challenger of using some illegal substances:

Outside of blasting Weichel in that Twitter post, a confident Pitbull also hints that former lightweight champion Michael Chandler has been using illegal substances as well.

Pitbull even spoke to MMA Fighting about Weichel and the alleged PED usage, saying the fighter may have used something to change his body up before the title rematch.

”Brother, did you see those photos I tweeted? How is this guy clean and manages to transform his body like that?” Freire said. “He’s a skinny guy, he has to because he’s tall for a featherweight, but out of nowhere he’s super athletic in 20 days? No way you get that body in 20 days. We know Germany is dirty with doping, it’s historical, you see athletes popping in the Olympics all the time. I’m used to seeing that. Daniel Weichel is not a young fighter to gain muscle like that in 20 days. He goes from looking like a lizard to looking like superman in days?”

Weichel, in a separate statement to MMA Fighting, not only denies using illegal substances, but says that he supports Bellator implementing a year-round drug testing policy.

“I believe Patricio is only trying to hype the fight and I’ve got to be honest — it’s been a little too quiet around this explosive rematch,” Weichel said. “I also believe that he chose the wrong topic as everybody in the game knows that I’m as clean as it gets and am very supportive of the idea to install year-round drug testing (at Bellator).”

Bellator 203 takes place on Saturday, July 14 from the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy with Patricio Pitbull and Daniel Weichel headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
