Patricio Pitbull Expects Michael Chandler To Join ONE Championship

Patricio Pitbull has a hunch Michael Chandler will end up in Singapore.

Former Bellator lightweight champion Chandler’s biggest rivals in Bellator are arguable two division champion Patricio Pitbull and his brother Patricky Pitbull. Chandler is now a free agent and Patricio believes that his longtime rival will wind up signing with One Championship.

“His future is uncertain, it looks like he will talk to Dana White and Bellator still has the right to match the offer,” Pitbull told MMA Fighting. “He has already shown interest in fighting for ONE, and I think he will go there. He has been teasing a trilogy with Eddie Alvarez for a while and we know that the Asian company is paying these big name guys really well.”

The free agent went 2-1-0 against the Pitbull Brothers, defeating Patricky twice and losing to Patricio. Pitbull believes that while Chandler is interested in competing for the UFC, passing USADA issued drug tests could be a problem for him.

“His eyes might sparkle for the UFC,” Freire said, “but if he goes to the UFC and USADA stays on him, he can’t have the same performance and will lose easily.”

Bellator President Scott Coker says serious talks begin this week with Chandler, but no decision has been made by the fighter at this time as to whom he’ll sign with.
