A lightweight division rematch has been added to the upcoming Bellator 194 card as Patricky Freire is once again up against Derek Campos.
Freire (18-8-0) enters the bout on the strength of a two fight winning streak, defeating former UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson and former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Josh Thomson. Freire won the initial meeting with Campos back at Bellator 117 and that win came by way of second round TKO. Freire has previously challenged for the Bellator MMA Lightweight Title, losing to then champion Michael Chandler at Bellator 157.
Campos (19-6-0) will come into the contest riding a four fight winning streak and that includes a win over UFC veteran Melvin Guillard. Campos has won five of seven since the first bout with Freire, with the other losses coming to former Bellator MMA Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler and Brandon Girtz. Campos hasn’t suffered a defeat in over four years, with that last loss coming to Brandon Girtz in November of 2015.
Bellator 194 takes place on Friday, February 16 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
